Art Center Program Outline
The Overbrook Arts Center (OAC) will provide its exclusive health-conscious retail products and training services through a client membership model. This will emulate the model of commercial gyms and fitness centers across the country that base their revenue model on providing access to resources within the facility and offering single and group benefits to clients paying for monthly or annual memberships.
OAC membership benefits to individual clients and groups/organizations will include access to the Overbrook Arts Center community network of client members and to the directory of collaborative organizations, free or discounted OAC retail products/incubation services, space rentals to service providers for one-time or on¬going training services, free community cultural events, free OAC sponsored course series classes, and access to OAC equipment and technology within the facility and through the CommuterVersity web portal.
To ensure that the Overbrook Arts Center (OAC) delivers quality services efficiently and effectively and that the financial health of the OAC is maintained with a high level of integrity and accuracy, an accountability infrastructure will be in place that will consist of a service series tracking system, weekly bank reconciliations, and internal and external program evaluations and financial audits.
The training services and course series will be tracked through a numeric coding system that will be used for customer service and accounting purposes. In regards to customer service and accounting, the coding system will allow the customer service administrator to schedule trainings and events through the OAC calendar software for the various training services and course series and using a numbered chart of accounts for financial transitions.
For example, under the Physical Health course series, a nutrition class is offered. The nutrition class would be categorized under a course series chart of accounts and would be tracked with it own series code (Physical Health Series 1000: Nutrition – 1100). This system will also be used for all bookkeeping and financial management in order to track revenue and expenses, including retail products, associated with each training service and course series category.
There are five programming categories of course series that will serve the educational needs of adults and adolescents within the Overbrook community, and the Greater Philadelphia region as well. The five programming categories include: Physical Health, Personal Enrichment, Artistic Expression, Workforce Literacy, and Environmental Sustainability.
